MP3 Songs

MP3+G is a karaoke file format that was created to allow CD+G karaoke to be played from a personal computer easily and quickly. MP3+G is considered the de facto standard of karaoke on the PC and was created from the combination of the MP3 audio file (the CD audio is converted and compressed to MP3) and a raw CDG file which contains the RW subchannels from the CD+G track. The name MP3+G was first used by Gai Marcos and Steve Gray in late 1997 or early 1998 to describe the format. It was first called MM+G in early 1996 where it was a combination of various audio formats synchronized to a CDG file. MP3 and WMA became the most popular audio format used for karaoke and therefore MP3+G and WMA+G became the most popular formats used. Microsoft first unofficially adopted the WMA+G for use on the XBox for the XBox karaoke product.

The MP3+G format

MP3+G stands for MP3 plus Graphics. MP3+G is derived from the CD+G format and the CD+G disc format invented by Philips. MP3+G is created by extracting the CD-Audio packets from the CD+G disc with a CD-ROM that is capable of also extracting the RW channels from the disc. The digital audio portion is compressed to MP3 (the MP3 format was invented by Fraunhofer Society MP3.) and the RW Channels (CD+G graphics CD+G.) are stored to a CDG file. The player products read each file and synchronize the information to display the interpreted graphics along with the music.

Downloading MP3+G Files

It is possible to locate and download virtually every karaoke song ever produced. These song files are shared between users of certain newsgroups and IRC channels, though there is a great learning curve to overcome for those who are not familiar with such methods. An alternative would be to purchase one of the pre-compiled MP3+G collections, such as KaraMP3.

History of MP3+G

Gai Marcos and Steve Gray in late 1997 / early 1998 created MP3+G (Marcos, Gai (1998-01-01). President of TyrannoSoft. Gai Marcos. Retrieved on 2007-09-07. and Gray, Steve (2004-08-31). Background. Steve Gray. Retrieved on 2007-09-07.) and their focus was to make the CD+G format easier to use. It was introduced to the market as MP3+G during that period and caught on with karaoke enthusiasts. The first player that was provided to play and create the format was called "WinCDG". WinCDG and its descendant products were released by TyrannoSoft (owned and operated by Gai Marcos and Steve Gray). In 2001, TyrannoSoft renamed to TriceraSoft and continues to support the format in all their products.

The Revolutionary MP3 Player

The MP3 player, which is a compression format that shrinks digital audio files with negligible sound-quality degradation, has revolutionized the way people can listen to music (MP3 Developments). The technological advances that the MP3 player has made were all possible due to its predecessors. The MP3 is incredibly small, dynamic, slim, easy to operate and lightweight to accommodate all types of people who might purchase and use one. The history of the MP3 player is extremely in depth and just recently, up for debate.

MP3 is short for MPEG Audio Layer III, which is a standard for audio compression, making music files smaller with the same type of sound quality they had in their bigger files (The History of MP3). Although Apple did not invent the MP3 player, its line called iPods, helped soar the MP3 to unprecedented popularity (What is an MP3 Player?). All the music can be stored on one device, which one downloads on to, making it portable and easily accessible. The user of the device can create song playlists tailored to their likes and wants. One can access files off the internet, either free or at a small fee, or could copy songs off their favorite CD's, to put on the MP3 player and listen to.

When Shawn Fanning started Napster in 2000, the online music base where downloading music was free, music moguls were scared that their industry and business would be ruined. CD sales, however, actually increased by 6 percent in the beginning of 2000 (Rage Against the Machines). Since Napster was founded, it has been reformatted to where the user now has to pay a fee and can then download music. Napster is not a free service anymore. Since these technological developments and advancements were making headway in the music world, this meant that profits would inevitably decrease for these music moguls who had already been in the business for more than sixty years. Technology made listening to music extremely easy (Rage Against the Machines). There have always been new forms of music emerging, new enemies that the competition or the already established companies had to deal with. It was a never-ending cycle and battle. In the 1920's and 30's the radio was seen as the foe. Record companies and musicians' unions would wage war with the radio stations that played recorded music instead of featuring the live performances (Rage Against the Machines).

In 1963 Philips presented the audio cassette tape, which in turn pivoted the rage and anger towards that market, instead of the radio (Rage Against the Machines). History repeats itself and with each new technology in the music world, the anger is directed towards the new implemented idea or product. These feelings by the various companies are inescapable.

Audio technology is forever improving its quality and technologies accessible to their clientele. In the early 19th century, the phonograph, invented by Thomas Edison, and the Gramophone, by Emile Berliner, were massive and bulky (MP3 Developments). Through the decades the music players changed, creating the small, compact image of today's standards. The very first successful recording device was developed in 1855, but that didn't really catch on to the mainstream audience until Edison's phonograph in 1877 (MP3 Developments). "Long players," more commonly known as LPs, came in 1947 with a face pace of 33 1/3 revolutions per minute, upping the ante for their predecessors MP3 Developments).

James Clerk Maxwell developed the theoretical basis for the propagation of electromagnetic waves in 1873, which paved the way for the radio to flourish. The radio was basically used for the military during World War I. When RCA, or the Radio Corporation of America, obtained the Victor Talking Machine Company in 1929, music as known presently, was initiated (MP3 Developments). The radio brought musical enjoyment to the masses. One could be sitting at home, in the car or at a public place, and could tune in to the station or programming that they wanted to listen to. This technology brought forth the idea of mobility.

The 8-track, invented by William Powell, came in the early 1960's. Music was masked by horrible sound quality because of misalignments in the tape and tape heads, which caused bleeds of other songs on the tape (MP3 Developments). There was only forty minutes of music on the whole 8-track.The average cassette tape did not reach homes until the late 1970's, but were previously used in recording studios since the 1950's (MP3 Developments). Cassettes were smaller than the 8-track, and had a higher sound quality. In 1979, Sony debuted the Walkman, which made cassette sales increase substantially in the 1980's. The compact disc, otherwise known as the CD, succeeded the cassette tape, in the late 1980's. The CD's used a digital storing system (MP3 Developments). The MP3, which will later be discussed, increased CD storage capabilities by ten times, not reducing the sound quality at all (MP3 Developments).

Hard drive mp3 players

Flash vs. Hard Drive

Most mp3 players can be split into two categories. Flash mp3 players or hard drive mp3 players. Flash mp3 players tend to be smaller, lighter, and cheaper. They also store less music, but make up for it by being able to handle more activity. Running, biking over rough terrain...and things of that sort are where flash mp3 players really outshine hard drive players. Flash mp3 players are most useful while working out or when buying an mp3 player on a budget. They are also upgradeable. You can swap out the memory card for a larger one to store more music if you decide you want a bigger player down the road.

Hard drive mp3 players are mostly known as "jukeboxes". Hard drive mp3 players are good for storing large music collections or as backup drives to store larger files(or with recent technological advancements...displaying pictures or playing videos). Hard drive players are great for taking away on extended trips or vacations. But hard drive mp3 players are pricey, and the more features they have, the more expensive they are. Though you are getting your based price per gig, the larger you go.

Features

Mp3 players have a variety of different features. From sound and audio options, to various play options. All mp3 players will also have different included software for downloading and managing music files, with some software packages being better than others. Things like battery life and included accessories may be important to you also, so make sure to check the specs of an mp3 player before purchasing it. Read some reviews and see if anyone has any negative things to say about it.

Some mp3 players will even allow you to rip CDs directly from an audio player to your mp3 player, no computer required. Players will also have different navigation types. Some using buttons, others using touch pads or click wheels. Some mp3 players come standard with an FM tuner, as well as digital voice and FM recording. Then there are players made specifically for sports use that come with lap timers and stopwatches and things of that nature.

Price

If you're looking to purchase an mp3 player for under $100 or so, flash mp3 players are going to be your best bet. Very few hard drive or larger file capacity mp3 players are available at that kind of price. But there is good news. With competition the way it is in the mp3 player market, older model mp3 players are always being made available at huge discounted prices, allowing you to save anywhere from $20 to $70 on some of the best mp3 players out there.

Brands

There are a lot of competing companies out there making mp3 players. Weeding out the top quality ones from the lesser ones isn't always easy. Some of my favorites are Apple, Creative Labs, Sandisk, Rio, iRiver and Archos. There are others, such as Nike or iAudio and more, but these are the main contenders. The Apple iPod is by far the most popular, most pervasive, coolest, and also most expensive mp3 player brand out there. Whether the price of the iPod is worth it, is your choice. Just make sure you get a good sense of what other mp3 player brands are out there, and what each of them are like.

MP3 Player News

MP3 Player News
A portable mp3 player is the easiest way to take your favorite music with you anywhere you go and anytime. Mp3 players are more compact than a CD, and you don't have to take with you an entire box of CDs because the memory of an mp3 player can be up to 5 GB. Even if the capacity is huge sometimes, portable mp3 players are very small, design to fit in a small pocket, and sometimes fashionable as you will see in this mp3 player review.

If you decide to purchase an mp3 player, there are many models to choose from, and you should get familiarized with their features. Using an mp3 player review can help you to make your choice, as mp3 players are grouped into main categories by their memory type in any mp3 player review. Also, there are many more features that can make the difference between mp3 players.

Mp3 compatible CD players were the first mp3 players sold in stores. At that time they were considered very useful because an mp3 player can store up 10 times the amount of songs an audio CD can. The preferred mp3 players in any mp3 player review are those with flash memory. Mp3 players with hard drives or micro drives, have the largest capacity from all mp3 players.

Categories of mp3 players

Usually, mp3 players are grouped by their capacity and their ability to read different file types. The most common file types used to store music are mp3 and wma, and the physical support for data can be flash, micro drive, hard drive, or CD.

Flash memory mp3 players are the most popular. The most recent players have flash memory between 256 MB and 4 GB. If we consider the fact that the average length of a melody is 3 MB, it results that actual flash memory players can store between 80 and 1200 melodies. Flash memories have no moving parts, so the players can be easily manipulated without the risk of damaging it.

Micro drive mp3 players have much more storage space than flash memory players, varying from 5 GB to 10 GB. Hard drive mp3 players have the largest amount of memory for multimedia files. Mp3 compatible CD players became pretty old-fashioned due to their size. The CD can easily crash if you drop the CD player from your hands and the capacity of a CD is just 700 MB. You should check also for discounts if you want to save some money.

Nowadays many of the mp3 players also have lots of other interesting functions. A newer mp3 player can also FM radio, agenda, possibility to sort and group melodies, recording and playback capabilities as well as many others.

The Indian Humor Fm

The new face radio in the form of FM radio stations does give the same sense of personal touch to listeners as it gave during the years of its inception. Radio stations now offers programs on variety of themes. The Radio Jockeys or RJs have become household names and much popular among teenagers for their effective interaction and humour. The introduction of mobile phones with FM receiver was a significant leap that popularized the radio. Now everyone could listen to radio while going to work, in traffic, in homes etc. The FM stations besides giving a new face to radio also played a role in popularizing the local culture and highlighting the spirit of the people. Like many radio stations in Hyderabad makes one feel connected with the culture of city. The emergence of satellite radio has further expanded the horizons of radio broadcasting. As digital radio signal is transmitted through communications satellite one can listen to the same radio programs over a very large region. Due to its digital nature, the sound quality is sharp and the quality of programming is high. This resurgence of radio can be contributed to the entry of the private players in radio broadcasting sector, which completely transformed the way we listen to the radio.

The Radio

Radio has touched sentiments of vast section of Indian society. Many who are in their middle age can remember the days in the early 80's when in many homes the day started with familiar voice of Ameen Sayani in his program Binaka Geetmala on Radio Ceylon. It was much before the advent of television, that the Radio had become an integral part of an average Indian Middle Class family. The dependence on radio had gone to such an extent that families used to rely on timings of radio programs to do their activities. Many would relate starting of a particular radio program as timing to leave to their offices, sending kids to schools etc.
It was the All India Radio's main entertainment channel, Vividh Bharati, which was started in 1960's that first catered to the taste of Indian audiences. It ran programs like situational comedies, film music based programs, dramas, news, discussions and commentaries on various issues like health, cooking etc. With very less other mediums of entertainment besides films and radio offering easy and affordable mode of entertainment, it soon gained popularity among masses. Its flexibility, adaptability, extensive reach of Radio made it popular among every household in India and even attracted advertisers. It was the Vividh Bharati, which was going to set the precursor to the future of radio stations in India.
However, with the advent of Television in the mid 1980's, the radio began to loose its sheen as a potent entertainment media. Due to natural advantages of Television and its Audio-Visual nature, a large section of society shifted to television. The restrictive broadcasting and license policies of government also hampered the growth of radio in country. Even after having a good reach, the radio could not expand its penetration.
The Radio received a new lease of life when in July 1999 the government allowed private operators to enter the FM radio broadcasting sector. The first private FM radio station Radio City began its operation in Bangalore, Karnataka in October 2001. Soon licenses were issued to other private operators and now a range of private radio stations can be seen offering a quality programming content.

indian american music for u

American Indians are well-known for their sense of tradition. It is hard to keep American Indian traditions alive, especially in today's society. Despite being difficult to do, a large number of American Indians have done just that. One of the ways that they are able to keep the traditions that their ancestors started alive is through music.American Indian music is famous for its simple, yet amazing music. Unlike most modern music, American Indian music does not typically comprise of a wide variety of instruments. Many times, music is only performed with a flute and singing. Additional instruments can be used, but the flute is the most common instrument used in American Indian history. If an additional instrument is used it is likely a drum or a whistle.

As previously mentioned, it is difficult for many American Indian families to keep traditions alive and strong today. A large number of Indian tribes have created private schools on their reservations; however, not all American Indian children are able to attend them. Placing children in a private or public school puts them at risk for becoming interested in non-traditional activities that are not approved by American Indians.

To prevent traditions from dying, many American Indians have taken extra steps to ensure that American Indian music continues to live on in the heart and soul of newer generations. One of those steps includes teaching children how to play American Indian music and educating them on the history that surrounds the music they are playing. Many parents are working to teach their young to play and others have urged their children to take American Indian music lessons.American Indian music lessons are usually offered for free or for a small fee on most Indian reservations. The individual teaching the lessons is usually an older tribal member who is experienced and considered educated in the subject of music. In addition to teaching students to play the flute, drums, or whistle, they teach the history and importance of American Indian music.

indian western music

The Indian classical music system is horizontal; one note follows the other, while the Western music is vertical; many notes played at a time. Yehudi Menuhin, the noted musician, highlights the differentiates both systems by describing Indian music as: "for appreciating Indian music one has to adopt totally a different set of values... one must orientate oneself and at least for the concerned period, forget the passing of time and just sink into a kind of thematic, almost hypnotic trance. The rhythmic and melodic features of Indian music that are repetitive, acquires an extraordinary charm and fascination... despite the domination of this hypnotic mood's domination, which is an Indian music characteristic, actively frees the mind."

The place of "composition" in these two systems is notably different. In Western music, the music is first composed by the composer and arranges it in notation: then the musicians play this composition under the guidance of a music conductor. Here improvisation hardly takes place, and the performance value lies in the uniformity and the pre-determined conduct of tone and music speed (tempo). In Indian music, while the melody grammar and rhythm is fixed, the ingenuity and skill of the musician lies in his creativity and improvisation, especially in mood evocation and rasa of a particular raga.

In this context, an international musicologist has written: "In the West, solid blocks of music are constructed. After carving out like building stones, the seven degrees of diatonic scale, lined up and placed on top of each other with cleverly worked out harmony and counterpoint. In this way fantastic edifices in sound are erected.

In Indian classical music, no one can think of dividing sound into blocks; instead it is refined into a wire-thin thread. The sound is stretched out to refine it to an extreme point of delicacy... No standard materials, no building of three or five floors, but just like silk thread which unfold and rises and falls and evokes a world of sensations and feelings."In music of India, melody and rhythm offer a variety of subtleties, which is not possible in Western music. Indian notes are divided into units called shruties (22 microtones), whereas Western music consist of 12 semitones. The microtones are more subtle than semitones. These microtones adorned with gracetones (gamakas) create a magical effect.

indian classical music

The Indian music characteristics are evident when you compare it with Western music. In both the systems you will find some essential differences: the Indian music is based on melody or single notes played in a given order, while the Western music is based on harmony: a group of notes known as chords played together.

Dr. Rabindranath Tagore who was well familiar with both the systems, explained the difference as follows: "The world by daylight stands for Western music which is a flowing concourse of vast harmony, composed of concord and discord and many disconnected fragments. And the night world stands for Indian music: one pure, deep and tender raga. Both, touches our heart, and yet both are contradictory in spirit. But this is natural. Nature, at the very root is divided into two, day and night, unity and variety, finite and infinite.
Indian men live in the realm of night; we are inspired by the sense of the One and Infinite. Indian music draws away the listener beyond the boundaries of daily joys and sorrows and takes us to the solitary space of renunciation which exists at the root of the universe, while Western music leads us to dance through a limitless rise and fall of human joy and grief.

" Indian classical music basically stirs our spiritual sense and discipline - a longing for realization of the self salvation. Singing is a worshipping act and not an intellectual exhibition of mastery on the technique of a raga. In Western culture, singing is a formal and secular exercise, and does not involve piety or devotion as compared to Indian music. The teacher-student (Guru-Shishya) tradition in Indian music is responsible for the deep dedication and attachment of the student to the teacher. In the West, a music teacher is taken as a hired person who teaches lessons and there is no deep attachment between the teacher and student.

Like Western music, Indian music too is based on melody and rhythm, but it has no foundation of harmony which is so significant in Western music. Indian music is "modal" - based on the relationship between the permanent individual notes known as tonic, with the successive notes. This is the reason why Tanpura (drone) is played in the background of Indian music which reminds one of the tonic notes.

hotel californaia-evergreen music album

Hotel California is a music album which was released in the month of December in the year 1976 and it depicts the emotional exhaustion of the West Coast when the love and peace converted into Sceptical pleasure seeking. It was a soundtrack of immoral times and yet was able to sell about 16 million copies or may be more. This album is given by a band that has matured and learned the hard way that is by continuously touring for five years and constantly giving hit records. It is said by many famous personalities that this album explores the bottom of success and the dark side of paradise.

It is the title song of an album given by Eagles by the name of Eagles itself. It is one of the very popular songs from a rock oriented album. The original recorded voice in the title song is of Don Henley who himself had written the lyrics of the song. He has sung in lead voice while concluding the song with the music of electric guitar which was interplayed between Don Felder and Joe Walsh. This song was on the top 100 playlist of Billboard for a whole week in May 1977. The group crossed all the boundaries of rock with their music all over the world.

The band of Eagles got disbanded in 1982 and left behind a musical void which could only be filled by this spectacular album Eagles and became the world's most loved album due to this title song Hotel California. The Eagles had ruled the music world in the decade of 70s. They had achieved a whole lot of Platinum and Gold records, a number of awards and maintained the constant demand of music and live performances. Now, the latest six most respected and multi talented groups of musicians present a recreation of the song in their own versions.

Hotel California is the most recognized song among all classic rock songs and even among the complete Eagles collection. It narrates the story of a person who is driving through the highway and stops at a hotel for taking some rest when he gets tired but the hotel turns out to be a great pleasure place having a disturbing story. The people do not try to understand the actual meaning of the lyrics and generally figure out that the hotel would really be a lovely place and only if the song is heard carefully it can be well understood that there is a dark side of the hotel which is being talked about. The album contains a lot of other chart busters also like One of These nights, Take it Easy, Heartache Tonight, Take it to the Limit, Lyin' eyes, New Kid in Town, Witchy Woman, Desperado, Tequila Sunrise, Best of my Love and Life in the Fast Lane and many more recent releases like Love will keep us Alive and Get Over It.

Hotel California

Those who can recall the song from their childhood memories, they can actually talk about the mystical meaning of the song. Originally the religious zealots felt and spread around that the song was about Satan or the Satan's church. The song started being considered as evil and the children were restrained from listening to the song without actually understanding the Hotel California Meaning.

Incidentally, other meanings were also being attached to the song for its theme like drug addiction, insanity, shallow relationships and temptation along with the theme of Satanism. The band members did not also break up the song, line wise and just spread the word around saying that it was about self indulgence. Don Henley who was the lyricist of the album also added that it was basically about the dark side of America and also about the excess of luxuries in the region. He also added that the concept of the album is not about the typical old West cowboy theme and rather was about urban theme trying to express the Meaning to Hotel California. Some people have also tried to capitalize on the success of the song as the owner of the hotel claims that his hotel has been the home for Eagles as it feels like they wrote the song while staying in the rooms of that hotel. Then eventually the rumours about the song turned into a legend of the song.

Some also say that Hotel California is a name of the state psychiatric hospital around Los Angeles, but no facts could be found to verify that. Some other rumours spread around about the album were like it is a place that is run by cannibals who allow only those guests who could be served for dinner or it is about addiction of drugs and the name of the hotel is a code word for the use and addiction of cocaine whereas the line '' the smell of colitis rising in the air'' was originally written in reference to the smell of burning Marijuana.

There was also a belief about the hotel that it represents the Satan master who was Aliester Crowley and the hotel was his mansion where all weird things used to happen. The nick name of Crowley was "The Beast" and in spite of all these rumours the song was still a huge success with all kinds of Meanings to Hotel California. The song ranked among the top 20 most favourite songs in the US. There is also no other opinion about the fact that the album was able to sell more than 16 million copies in the entire US and was also declared to be the number one album for eight weeks continuously in the year 1977.

brief history of 50cent

50 Cent (aka Curtis James Jackson) has been an explosive figure in the hip hop industry since his major label debut in 2003. Despite a hard childhood and youth, he has managed to pull himself out of the streets with unique rhymes and an ear for finding other rap talents.50 Cent became rap's golden boy when he was signed for a reported one million with Eminem's Shady/Aftermath label. Emininem and rap superstar Dr. Dre built upon 50's already present talent to create the monster single "In Da Club." This 50 Cent song was featured on his first major label album "Get Rich or Die Tryin'" which was released in 2003. The 50 Cent video for the song included appearances by both Eminem and Dr. Dre, which catapulted his success.

After the success of the album, Interscope records granted 50 cent with his own record label G-Unit Records. He immediately signed Lloyd Banks and Tony Yayo, childhood friends, for the label. He joined these artists in a group called G-Unit, which released "Beg for Mercy" in 2003. Later additions the label included Young Buck, Olivia, Mob Deep and Young Hot Rod. 2008 saw a second album from the G-Unit group called "T.O.S: Terminate on Sight".

At the same time, he began work on his second studio release entitled "The Massacre." The album sold 1.14 million copies in the first four days. The 50 Cent videos for "Candy Shop," "Disco Inferno" and "How We Do" helped place those three songs within the top five Billboard singles in the same week.50 Cent's success is driven by his desire to overcome his rough childhood and the shooting in May 2000 that put his rap career on hold. He was born in the South Jamaica neighborhood of Queens, New York to a teenage mother. He was raised by his grandparents after his mother's murder when he was 8. By 12, 50 Cent was selling crack on the streets and taking guns to school. After several arrests during his late teens, he started to become interested in music.

During the late 1990s, he appeared on several records by other artists and was signed to Columbia records in 1999. He recorded thirty-six songs in two weeks and was prepared to release "Power of the Dollar" when he was shot. 50 Cent was attacked outside of his grandparent's home and was shot nine times. His shooter was never officially charged but was killed in the streets three weeks later. In 50 Cent pictures before and after the shooting, one can see the slight damage to his left cheek from the shooting.

Columbia records dropped the artist immediately, considering him too risky. However, this didn't stop his desire to become a rap star. While 50 Cent was recovering, he recorded thirty songs for rap mix tapes, which helped him build his reputation. It was on one of these mix tapes where Eminem first heard his music.

hollywood movie songs

By 1950 it was estimated that over 10.5 million U.S. households had a television, and that number was climbing rapidly. Post-war affluence seemed ripe for the taking. However, with this affluence came a number of alternate leisure activities.

Not only was television grabbing a larger share of the entertainment pie, but there were also newly created opportunities outside the movie theater. A couple of examples would be; 'fast food restaurants,' and 'drive-ins'. It didn't take long for these to catch on and gain their share of the publics leisure time and dollar..The motion picture industry needed to again change a large portion of its focus. Older viewers became the ones most likely to stay home and watch television. The younger market was growing in both size and spending power, and the youth-oriented movie goer had little interest in films produced to appeal to the older market. They demanded something fresh, and whenever possible a bit of a rebellious edge.
Hollywood found its creativity challenged in reaching for this new market. They tried the "bigger is better" approach, hoping to draw people away from the small-screen television and back into the full-color, large-screen motion picture theatre

hollywood party dance and songs

A Hollywood party theme is one of the easiest to throw. This is because, most of the props and costumes most people tend to already have. It is important that for your Hollywood party theme, everything from the invitations, costumes, props, music, food and drink needs to be consistent with the theme.Your invitations should be addressed to the VIP and should be in black and gold. Invite people to an Oscars ceremony.

You should have a red carpet leading up to the door where, once inside, your guests can have their photo taken by a film set backdrop. Either side of the red carpet there should be Hollywood stars with your guests name on just like at the Chinese theater. You can easily get black and gold balloons to decorate the place and gold bunting for the walls. Get some film magazines and novelty Oscar statues to leave round the place, also get some movie posters to stick on the wall.Your guests should dress in there finest. Black tie for men and finest dress for the ladies, they will thank you for the rare opportunity to dress up like this.Finger food buffets are ideal and also plenty of champagne. Budget dependant you could hire a waiter for an extra touch of class that your "'A' Listers" will appreciate.Recommended music would be your favorite film soundtrack or songs like "Singing in the Rain" and "Stardust."

hip hop legends

Now brewing beer for almost 250 years and served in some 150 countries, Guinness Stout was founded as a family-owned brewery in Dublin, Ireland by Arthur Guinness. Not only is Guinness a top beverage in its own country, but even down in Jamaica the dreads swear by it, serve it up, and sip it down; ice cold, or at room temperature. Lots of big business has come out of 'Sir Arthur's' product, which is known the world over, and spreading...

Truthfully, many affiliations between big business and the music industry have netted fruitful endeavors for all parties involved. And now, a university-level homework assignment: see if you can use a keen eye to find a few more examples of relationships between big business, government, or social organizations with the Rap community. Chances are, there's probably some right around you; you may not have even been aware of them before. Hint: Take a good look at those motion pictures hitting the big screen. Here's an interesting scenario for you to sink your teeth into...action!

Celebrity Will Smith laughed his way straight to the bank when many Rap fans wrote "DJ Jazzy Jeff and The Fresh Prince" off as lame. But before 'the show' was over, Smith got the starring role on TV sitcom "The Fresh Prince of Bel Air," which debuted in 1990. The show had a long successful run, and continues running in syndication. Will Smith 'the rapper' performed the theme song, while Will Smith 'the actor' made sure his Rap music homey Jazzy Jeff was also cast in some shows; but Mr. Smith did not stop there. He went on to star in movies which earned him as much as $10 million a pop. There is no need to mention his list of credits; just go to Blockbuster Video or the Internet and type in the 'search.'

how to sing the song in hollywood films

Hollywood is a place for those people who hope of becoming a singer as well as in achieving success in a possible field. To become a singer in Hollywood, here are some instructions you will need.

If you are not yet a resident of Hollywood, then the first thing you should do in becoming a singer in this city is to move in the area. Look around Hollywood, get settled and then find your way around. If you want to pursue musical theater, a part of your career base is doing auditions in the all areas of Hollywood.

The next step is considering the kind of voice you will need to become a singer in Hollywood. Can it be a bass, a tenor, a soprano, or an alto? Some people may have a lot of exceeding abilities but it is unusual. A bass is a deep voice of male, whereas a tenor is a strong voice of male. On the other hand, an alto is a lower voice of female and a soprano is a rich voice of female.

To become a singer in Hollywood, learning to read music is important as well.
To build the singing demonstration more amusing, you can take an instrument like a guitar or a keyboard. Writing songs will also add to your talent.

Alternatively, you can audition for "American Idol." American Idol is a show that provides a meeting place for those singers with no or little experience to get millions of audience. Artists such as Carrie Underwood, Kelly Clarkson and Jennifer Hudson made it to the high status in Hollywood singing on American Idol. It is also essential for singers in Hollywood to go for some open music nights. Commonly, your local hideaways have open music nights, wherein you can display your talents and abilities. You may never know who will become your audience. Probably one of your audiences is a talent manager

hollywood classic songs

Well, does anyone of us ever come to think of Hollywood's most memorable romance classics spanning decades? As an ardent admirer of romance and the alluring Hollywood musicals, I unmistakably feel my pulses rising with the sheer magic and aura of the timeless romances portrayed so very lovingly in the silver screen of the yesteryears. Be it the ever-touching saga of star-crossed lovers meeting during wartime under the Moorish arches of Rick's Café American in "Casablanca", or the sweeping melodrama, "Gone With The Wind"-- based on Margaret Mitchell's bestselling Civil War epic (which defined the term "Hollywood blockbuster"), I have an insatiable appetite for each of them.

Oh how can I ever forget the sweeping emotions of the magic of a shipboard romance which charms a Frenchman and American woman (Charles Boyer and Irene Dunne, respectively) into each other's arms in the ever-memorable "Love Affair"? Or do you remember that phenomenal romance between Cary Grant and Deborah Kerr in "An Affair To Remember", where a man and a woman meet on a ship crossing an ocean and fall in love, only to part ways, promising to meet dramatically on the top of Empire State Building, New York (which unfortunately, doesn't happen later)? Equally unforgettable to my mind is the all-time epic love saga, "Roman Holiday", which happens to be the most priceless transient romance between a disguised princess and a handsome American reporter (Audrey Hepburn and Gregory Peck, respectively).

When you come to think of candlelight romances, serenading, wooing the beloved or star-crossed epic love sagas, you would obviously mark the romantic chemistry between the lover and his beloved as the quintessential foundation behind these wonderful, witty and immensely touching tales of true love. Interestingly, the success of these blockbusters in romance in Hollywood comes from incorporating core elements of Hollywood (especially the music), classical romance elements and a degree of sentimentality which, again, is quite stylishly

hollywood music news

Hollywood Musicals is a delightful book that comes accompanied by a CD. The introduction to the book starts with "In the beginning there was light. Electric light."

In that vein, starting with Edison, the book continues with the technical history of the photography, moving pictures, Kinetograph and the Nickelodeon, ten-minute shorts of Griffith, and the silent films that followed.

Among the first silent films, the book cites Edwin S. Porter's (1903) "Life of an American fireman" and "The Great Train Robbery," Griffith's (1915) "Birth of a Nation" and "Intolerance." Together with the top producer Cecil Blount De Mille, the stars of the silent era are also mentioned: Mary Pickford, Dorothy and Lillian Gish, Charlie Chaplin, Douglas Fairbanks, Greta Garbo, and Rudolph Valentino.

Sound to the movies came through the efforts of four Warner Brothers: Harry, Sam, Albert, and Jack. The Jazz Singer (1927), starring Al Jolson is considered to be the first talking picture, in which Jolson spoke the prophetic words: "Wait a minute...You ain't heard nothin' yet."

Talking pictures or the talkies had their birthing pains. Big stars like Pola Negri, Norma Talmadge, and John Gilbert were snuffed out because their voices did not sound good in the talkies. Yet, some actors like Greta Garbo made a spectacular transition and became etched in the history of the motion pictures.

all about rock music

Patriotic rock music are two phrases that on the service don't appear to go together very well. Folk and country music tend to be thought of and are well represented, but what about rock?. Patriotism appears to ebb and flow in America but it is always represented in music - even rock music. Although often rebellious, rock music can be patriotic as well. These are the top 5 patriotic rock songs of all time:

5. Chuck Berry, "Back In The USA"

This patriotic song was released in 1959 and made it to number 37 on the US charts. It has been covered by many artists including Linda Ronstadt. In 1978, her version made it to number 16 on the US charts. The song also inspired Paul McCartney's song "Back In The USSR". It is a tribute to all that makes the United States great done by a classic American performer.

4. James Brown, "America Is My Home"

James Brown, the Godfather of Soul wrote on many themes. "America Is My Home" was his spoken word tribute to America. Not only did James Brown perform this song, he also wrote it. This song provides a unique look at America from an African American perspective.

3. Johnny Horton, "The Battle Of New Orleans" Johnny Horton's song is one of the great patriotic war songs of his generation. It is a song all about the New Orleans war in 1812 against the British. The light hearted song was written by Jimmie Driftwood and topped the Billboard charts in 1959. It is a classic song in the patriotic rock music archives. The song has its roots in a fiddle tune "The 8th of January". The song has been very popular over the years and has had many parodies done of it.

2. Elvis Presley, "An American Trilogy"

The King was also a patriot and sung about it in " An American Trilogy". The song is a medley of "Dixie", "The Battle Hymn Of The Republic" and "All My Trials" performed as only Elvis can. Elvis first performed the song in 1972 and released a recording that same year on RCA records. It was one of Elvis's favorites and was performed on his 1973 telecast "Elvis-Aloha from Hawaii". The recording reached #26 on the US charts in 1972.

1. Jimi Hendrix, "The Star-Spangled Banner"
In the annals of patriotic rock music, the greatest performance without a doubt is Jimi Hendrix's Woodstock version of "The Star Spangled Banner". Hendrix's performance on August 18, 1969 is legendary. He capped the magical set with his solo-scorching rendition of "The Star Spangled Banner". It has become the iconic symbol of the 60's and of Woodstock. Not bad for a solo improvisation.

Patriotism is alive and well in rock music. Today there are hundreds of bands covering patriotic songs and creating new ones. A quick search on any Internet based music service will show hundreds of patriotic rock songs. Some are pro war, some are not but they all show a love for America while viewing the country through unique lenses and experiences.

90's rap songs

Alice in Chains- Rotten Apples

If you like great harmonies and bright guitars, check out the 1993 Alice in Chains release Jar of Flies. Although others have attempted to duplicate their sound, songs like "Rotten Apples" prove that there is nothing quite like the combined vocals of Jerry Cantrell and the late Layne Staley.

Archers of Loaf- Might

We were definitely late to the party with this band, perhaps due to their lack of play on the radio. Check this song out and you'll understand why they have a great underground following.

Black Lab- Wash it Away

Even though "Wash it Away" is Black Lab's most successful release to date, we deem it somewhat forgotten. You will most likely recognize the track, but probably haven't heard it in a decade.

Blink 182- Carousel

Ask any Blink 182 fan what their favorite song is, and I guarantee many respond with "Carousel"! "Carousel", the opening track on Blink's 1994 debut album Cheshire Cat, instantly hooks the listener with a commanding minute long bass driven intro. Although "Carousel" is featured on Blink's Greatest Hits Album, it was never a radio hit, and therefore makes our list of unknown greats.

Bouncing Souls- The Freaks, Nerds & Romantics

If you know punk music you're probably quite familiar with the Bouncing Souls, but they're certainly not a household name. This song could have possibly propelled them into the mainstream, had it been given a shot on the airwaves.

Candlebox- Cover Me

When we think of 90's rock, one album that stands out is Candlebox's eponymous debut. As our favorite song on the album, we include "Cover Me" on this list. "Cover Me" hit the airwaves in 94, so it is unfair to categorize it as completely obscure, but (in our opinion) "You" and "Left Behind" stole its spotlight.

Counting Crows- Children in Bloom

Counting Crows are another band with countless unknown greats. We were torn in choosing just one, but "Children in Bloom" is far too catchy to pass up.

Everclear- Strawberry

The sixth track on Everclear's 1995 release Sparkle and Fade, is a must hear. Lasting only 2 minutes and 35 seconds, "Strawberry" is short, sweet, and definitely worth a few minutes of your time.

For Squirrels- Stark Pretty

While their hit "Mighty K.C." gained them some fame, we don't see any reason why this song couldn't have followed suit.

The Get Up Kids- Coming Clean

Plain and simple, an underrated track by an underrated band!

Gren- She Shines

Gren's "She Shines" is yet another forgotten track. "She Shines" was mildly successful and received some radio play, but for the most part was never "a hit". The track exudes grunge, and was a perfect fit for the 90's.

Incubus- Miss You

Even though we love the more aggressive side of Incubus, "Miss You" displays the group's versatility by introducing a more melodic sound.

Jimmy Eat World- For Me This Is Heaven

Jimmy Eat World's 1997 release Clarity contains numerous great unknowns; in fact, the album in its entirety is outright enjoyable. "For Me This Is Heaven" is our favorite, therefore earning a spot on our list.

Less Than Jake- My Very Own Flag

Although these Florida natives bear several of the catchiest songs to never hit the radio, "My Very Own Flag" definitely sticks out. Just listen to the last 50 seconds and tell us you disagree.

Live- Mother Earth is a Vicious Crowd

Live's quality music writing didn't begin with Throwing Copper. The Pennsylvania rock band's debut album Mental Jewelry had some gems, one being "Mother Earth is a Vicious Crowd".

Local H- Fritz's Corner

Local H broke onto the scene as a 2 piece band with a powerful sound. They've since received some radio play (mostly from their hit "Bound For The Floor"), but songs like "Fritz's Corner" helped distinguish them from a scene dominated by 3-5 piece bands.

Metallica- Bleeding Me

When Metallica released the album Load in 1996, many fans were surprised by the bands new alternative sound. The album had several hits, with our favorite not being one of them. "Bleeding Me" extends for over eight minutes, and the song in its entirety is simply powerful.

New Found Glory- Broken Sound

New Found Glory are known for creating great hooks. Check out "Broken Sound"- although repetitious, the two minute track will leave you yearning for more.

Nirvana- Radio Friendly Unit Shifter

Most people think of Nevermind as their pinnacle album, but for our money we'll take In Utero. Filled with raw goodness, this song aids in putting that album on top, in our minds anyway.

Our Lady Peace- Naveed

This song was popular in Canada, but it was never given a fair shot here in the States. This is an excellent song by an excellent band, and when we think back on the music of the 90s, this song definitely stands out.

The Pietasters- Without You

The Pietasters have been blessing us with soulful ska for almost 20 years now. Check out their early work (like this track) because we think you'll quickly grow to know and love this band.

classic songs

Call them one hit wonders, novelty acts or simply outrageously ridiculous songs, there are so many wacky classic songs that we have all grown to ashamedly love. We know they're stupid, we know they're pointless, we know they're meaningless, we know they're ridiculous yet we never have second thoughts about putting it on our iPod today. It's probably because of its wackiness that we love these songs.

Below are 5 classic songs for which you should hang your head in shame for liking.

"Kung Fu Fighting" - Carl Douglas

It's been called the biggest one-hit wonder of all time. It's also been called the most ridiculous song (and dance) ever made. Which is not surprising given that songs about martial arts are not something that happens every day. One of the earliest disco songs, "Kung Fu Fighting" was a resounding success commercially when released in 1974, selling over a million copies in the US and over 4 million worldwide.

Soon enough the whole world was dancing and singing "everybody was kung-fu fighting, those cats were fast as lightning, in fact it was a little bit frightening, but they fought with expert timing." The fact that it came with a dance made it even more popular and addictive.

If you have never heard "Kung-Fu Fighting", I warn you to be prepared for one of the worst songs you'll ever hear. You'll almost certainly hate it at first, but you will grow to love it. Guaranteed. And then you'll hang your head in shame.

"Tarzan Boy" - Baltimora

Any song that uses Tarzan's cry as the melodic line is nothing but outrageous. "Tarzan Boy" was a huge one-hit wonder for Italian electro-pop dance group Baltimora in 1985. Sung by frontman Jimmy McShane, it also comes with one of the worst music videos ever created. You can see it for yourself above.

The song deals with living in the jungle just like Tarzan Boy and about "monkey business on a sunny afternoon." The lyrics are certainly some of the worst ever written, however, it is Tarzan's cry that makes this song so memorable and so loved by many of us. We should really hang our heads in shame.

"Ice Ice Baby" - Vanilla Ice

Apart from being a big hip-hop one-hit wonder in the early 90s, it was also the subject of a plagiarism dispute. And to make matters worse (or more interesting), Vanilla Ice was a white rapper which was unheard of in the early 90s.

There are few phrases in music that are more addictive than "ice ice baby." In fact, many of us still go crazy over the prospect of singing "ice ice baby" in a whisper-like voice. We've probably got this song on our iPods right now. Hang your head in shame if you love this song.

"Barbara Ann" - The Beach Boys

You'd be hard pressed to find another song that repeats its title so many times during the song. So many times that the Beach Boys themselves have made the mistake of singing "baa baa black sheep" instead "Barbara Ann" on some occasions. One wonders whether the kid's nursery rhyme was the inspiration behind this song. I wouldn't be surprised if it was.

I feel sorry for anyone named Barbara or Barbara Ann for that matter, this is certainly one song that you would not like to hear. You're probably wondering why people have to sound like sheep to sing a song. Yet it's probably because of this, that we all love to sing and dance to this song. Let's hang our heads in shame.

"I'm Too Sexy" - Right Said Fred

A worldwide hit in 1992, "I'm Too Sexy" features some of the most hilarious and ridiculous lyrics ever used. In fact, I would classify this song to be more of a comedy skit than a pop song.

The song explores the feeling of being comfortable about your personal level of sexiness that you are too sexy for many things. The song goes through a list of things which the protagonist says he's too sexy for. This includes being too sexy for "my love, my shirt, Milan, Japan, New York, your party, my car, my hat, my cat" and finally the song itself.

Men may not like to admit it, but they simply (and secretly) adore this song and dream of singing it every time they get up from bed. They can hang their heads in shame.

top 10 love songs

1. Everything I Do (I Do For You) - Bryan Adams

One of the biggest ballads of the 90s, "Everything I Do" is up there in many people's list of the best love songs ever composed. It is the most modern original composition in this Top 10 Love Songs list, making it even more special and unique. Easily Bryan Adam's biggest hit in terms of commercial success, this continues to be a favorite at weddings.

2. Hard To Say I'm Sorry - Chicago

Peter Cetera's voice is almost inseparable from this classic love song. This was the song that revived the fortunes of Chicago after a commercial slump in the late 70s and the early part of the 80s. This is probably the one song that will forever remain in my Top 10 Love Songs list and probably yours too.

3. I Will Always Love You - Whitney Houston

Few songs have such a vocal performance as powerful and as memorable as this song. Originally a country song from Dolly Parton, Whitney Houston remade the song completely, so much so, that it is considered to be her song, rather than Dolly's. The fact that it was part of a successful film The Bodyguard, guaranteed the success of this song.

4. Unchained Melody - Righteous Brothers

It shouldn't come as a surprise that this is one of the most recorded songs of the 20th century. While originally recorded and released in 1965, its popularity with modern audiences is due to its inclusion in the 1990 hit movie Ghost. Old fashioned and traditional, yet sincere and timeless.

5. Don't Know Much - Linda Ronstadt & Aaron Neville

Don't Know Much is one of the simplest yet one of the most powerful love songs ever made. It explores how people may not be sure about a lot of things in life yet the one thing that they're always sure about is that they are in love with their partner. This is the song I would play at a first dance at a wedding. Certainly deserves its place in the Top 10 Love Songs list.

6. Endless Love - Diana Ross & Lionel Ritchie

Probably the most well-known ballad of the 80s, it is about 2 lovers that declare their complete, limitless and eternal love to one another. It continues to be in high rotation on adult contemporary radio stations as well as at weddings. While the song was successfully remade by Mariah Carey and Luther Vandross, it doesn't top the original in my opinion.

7. Close To You - The Carpenters

More often than not, this is my most favorite love song of all time and deserving of a place in this Top 10 Love Songs list. But that's probably because I'm a big fan of The Carpenters and simply adore Karen Carpenter. I haven't been able to find another song that is sweeter, simpler and more beautiful. The lyrics are touching. The arrangement is perfect. The voice is certainly from above. A timeless classic.

8. It Must Have Been Love - Roxette

This song always reminds me of the movie Pretty Woman and the scene where it is played. It is played as Vivian (played by Julia Roberts) is leaving Edward (Richard Gere) for what appears to be the last time. The lyrics of the song explain that all that she has gone through with Edward "must have been love" even though it looks to have ended.

9. Waiting For A Girl Like You - Foreigner

You may be surprised to find that I've chosen this song in this Top 10 Love Songs list instead of Foreigner's other big hit, I Wanna Know What Love Is, which is generally considered to be their best ballad. All I can say is that this is one of the songs currently going through my head, for many different reasons. Nevertheless, it is a wonderful song, often overshadowed by their other hit. An interesting fact is that this song spent a record 10 weeks at number 2 on the US charts without ever reaching number 1.

10. Sara - Starship

Easily my favorite power ballad of all time, 2 ingredients make this song both powerful and memorable. Firstly, the emotive lyrics demonstrate the rollercoaster that relationships can be especially when they end. Secondly, lead singer Mickey Thomas' vocal performance is very genuine and combined with the great lyrics creates something that tugs the heart.

top 10 songs

10th song

Coming in at number 10 in our top song list is Eric Clapton Wonderful Tonight. I have noticed mixed reviews with this song. It is recognizable one of the most powerful slow songs (right next to Remember When and I Can't Help Falling In Love with You), however some feel it has been over played. Personally I have nothing against this song and actually enjoy it. Eric Clapton is talented and became a very successful solo artist in the mid 70s. Some people just are not digging his solo style.

9th song

The Sledge sisters are disco divas and "We Are Family" barely makes it in our top 10 of our song list. I feel indifferent about this song and a large portion of guests at parties request this song. The sisters are vocal powerhouses and the intro into the song has hypnotic guitar work. This is their anthem and once again I would say this song is timeless. Sisters everywhere can relate to this song.

8th song

Etta James At Last comes in at number 8 on our top song list. This is the essential slow song for your wedding reception. This song grabs you at the heart and the words helps you reminisce of time of lite rock and smooth jazz. Her voice is strong and filled with soul. This will make a perfect addition to your next cocktail party or private event. Enjoy!

7th song

Our first funk song holding the 7 spot in our top 10 song list is Abba Dancing Queen. This best selling single is one that I am not fond of at all! This dancey-pop Stockholm style, another #1 fabricated, which personally I felt lacked something and generally droned on somewhat. Since this song is regarded as an icon in itself, I guess this makes me out of step with the world. I will tell you one thing; it will not be played at my wedding.

6th song

The second funk song in our ranking at number 6 in the top 10 list is KC & The Sunshine Band Get Down Tonight. This disco classic is guaranteed to jump start any party. KC can deliver enthusiasm, but personally I think other KC songs could belong in this top 10 spot. Regardless, this is a great song.

5th song

The signature song of Def Leppard is Pour Some Sugar on Me. Serving as the stereotypical awesome party song; this is played at a variety of events because it is highly requested. If you are a big classic or 80s hair band fan, then you are familiar with this track and Rock n Roll. I knew this would be in the top 10 of our song list.

4th song

Van Morrison has many great songs and "Brown Eyed Girl" comes in at number 4 on our song list. This song is timeless, meaning that it appeals to practically everyone. This unforgettable melody would fit in the genre of bubbly pop. Brown Eyed Girl is a high spirited all time favorite so, it has earned its place at number 4 on our top song list.

3rd song

Who seriously has not danced or karaoked to the B-52s Love Shack before? This song is not played out yet, in some (generations it maybe), but this tune is packed full or energy and flair. The Love Shack actually has its own dance that all ages know. This seems to be a trend with the younger generation. All I have to say is Tinnnnnn Rooooof....... rusted.

2nd song

Our second place on our top 10 song list is Justin Timberlake Sexy Back. Justin Timberlake has been in the in the music scene for several years, and finally solidifies his single debut chart topper Sexy Back. This Timbaland-produced track features deep snazzy riffs with processed vocals. People know this song when it is played at our parties and is the only recent song to make its way into the top ten.

1st song

ACDC You Shook Me All Night Long is seriously a must play at our events, and deserves the number 1 spot on our top wedding song list. ACDC is requested by all age groups and You Shook Me All Night Long has a tendency to bring people together. When people hear those first 3 notes, they go crazy. This is one of their most recognizable/well known songs. There are still other songs by ACDC that deserve the same recognition. Angus Young can tear that guitar up!

american best songs

Song selection is both an art and a science, especially for American Idol audition. Song selection is very important whether you are doing covers or original material, or a combination of both. The rules and audition format for each city where American Idol auditions are held keep changing each year, so be sure to check the American Idol site and prepare exactly what they specify for the city where you plan to
audition.

1. American Idol Audition

So, if you're thinking of auditioning for the next round there are a few things you need to be ready for to make it by the judges. There is no other way to explain it, you need to do your homework if you're going to make it past the very first and following auditions. To become American Idol you need to give these auditions your absolute best shot if you want to make it. Factor in how an American Idol auditions is always a magnet for the really strange over the real singers. To have to listen to those people who confidently claimed that their tones sound like Freddy Mercury in the American idol audition is already emotionally and physically (to the ears of course) torturous.

2. American Idol Songs

The first rule to American Idol song selection is to pick a song that you can sing. I have seen too many good vocalists singing poor songs, which effectively reduces an artist's chances of success. The second rule to song selection is to choose a song people know. If the judges don't know your song, they will have little idea if you are singing the song correctly or not and that tends to bring scores down. The third rule of song selection is to pick a song that shows off all you have to offer. Be true to yourself and your voice to get your best shot at this business of singing. The forth and final rule to song selection is to choose a song that suites your personality. If you are shy and quite with a soft voice, you're probably better off singing a ballad than trying to fake your way through an outgoing dance song.

3. Searching for Songs

You can search for songs with a keyword, phrase and/or composer. Perform a lyrics search by artist name, title, or song lyrics text or check out the top song lyrics searches and see the most popular love songs on The Love Lyrics Encyclopedia. Searching by titles or keywords is much faster than searching the whole text (these are "indexed" searches, and take only about a tenth the time a full-text search requires), but they only work if you know the song's title or can guess at the keywords. There is a search method for preparing a sensitivity table which can be updated with a correlation value between a search keyword (for example, cheerful song or refreshing song) and a feature word (for example, cheerfulness or energetic). After searching a song, look for the words 'Karaoke Lyrics' under song info.

4. Karaoke Tips For Next American Idols

Karaoke is supposed to be easy, breezy, and stress free for American idols contestant, where lining up an hour's worth of songs should only take 30 seconds. You have a great selection of karaoke to choose from and presented in a good package. For example, each Pocket Songs PSCDG album contains a complete performance with a professional vocalist as well as the karaoke tracks of each song, for the at-home performer. The cutting edge technology of the computerized karaoke system is a big plus for the die-hard karaoke junkie, and I can see lots of entertainment potential with the added features of the digital system. Sing at karaoke clubs as much as possible. Record yourself singing along with the singer or piano accompaniment with melody and make sure your voice matches, especially on high notes, low notes, fast phrases and runs. Record yourself again and listen for any pitch problems.

Song selection is important for every party involved in American Idol audition, especially if you want them to have a lot of fun. Practice your song in front of the mirror and make sure that your singing sounds good. When you want to become American Idol there are many things that are involved in the worship event and worship leading, but song selection is a really important one.

ANLINERADIO-solar radio

I really cannot tell you just how great a solar or crank radio is. I have now had mine for over 11 years and it is still going

It may be spattered with paint, the solar panel may be a little cloudy because I left it out in the rain but it still works. They really are a great item that everyone should own. Not only do they save a lot on electric but they also are extremely portable and it means that you can listen to the radio anywhere that you go.

I love the fact that I can take it with me anywhere and simply set it down and turn it on. If there is no sun then a quick crank of the handle and it works for hours. Of course the new designs are much more efficient now and it seems that the newer models require even less turning or winding for them to work for hours. This is great news for anyone looking to buy one now.I also noted that many of them also have a great little torch feature which means they are an even more versatile piece of equipment that is sure to come in handy in so many environments. There are also now many available that have a great feature where you can plug in your mobile phone, this really does make them the perfect item to take with you when walking, hiking, or out for the day.

If you have been considering buying one then you will be pleased to note that they are available at a very low cost and they really do last for years and years as I can attest. Mine is well over 11 years old and still going strong. Buy one today and you will not regret it one bit.

anline radio frequencies

Ham Radios are actually pretty simplistic in their operation. They depend on radio waves to get their message out.

Radio Frequencies

Hams use a variety of radio frequencies to communicate. Non-hams can hear what is being transmitted via their own receivers or scanners, but cannot participate in the action without a transmitter or a license. The ham operator can only use certain radio frequencies to transmit from these frequencies are allocated by the FCC for amateur use. Hams may operate from just above the AM broadcast band to the microwave region, in the gigahertz range. Most of the Ham Bands are found in the frequency range that goes from above the AM radio band (1.6 MHz) to just above the citizens band (27 MHz). Certain bands are dedicated during certain times of the day. The day time hours find 15 to 27 MHz is used for long distance transmission. During the night time hours 1.6 to 15 MHz is used for long distance transmission.

The bands are called "short wave" bands which are unlike frequencies used by FM radio stations and TV stations. FM radio and TV stations use what is known as line of sight bands, these bands only travel 40 or 50 miles. Short waves use the airwaves to bounce the signal off the ionosphere from the transmitter to the receiver's antenna. The higher the frequency is, the "shorter" the wavelength is.

Generally hams get their beginning on VHF FM, using small hand-held transceivers which transmit on one frequency than receives on a different one.

They use FM repeaters that have been put in place by local radio clubs. The repeaters typically use space that is owned by local Television stations. These repeaters are set up on large antennas that the TV station uses to transmit its signal. The repeaters uses transmit and receive pairs to relay information back and forth. Frequency pairs are set up by Ham Radio groups and are kept at a long enough distance from each other not to cause interference.

There is new cutting edge technology that is coming more and more into use. Instead of using these repeaters to catch a signal and send out communications, some hams are able to use satellites.

Equipment

Historically Ham Radios depended on a series of tubes and electrodes to send out and receive a signal, some amateur radio aficionados still use this system but the majority have moved into the digital age and largely no longer use radio tubes to transmit and receive.

There can be a couple of different ways that Ham Radio is able to transmit. The oldest form of Ham Radio that is still widely in use today is to have two separate parts, a receiver and a transmitter. The receiver pulls in the signal from other hams and the transmitter sends the signal out. There are also transceiver's these send and accept signals in one unit. This type of equipment is usually found as hand held's and mobile units.

Most serious Ham's prefer the two separate units with a separate antenna, to reach longer distances. Antennas of course play a huge roll is Ham operations. The most used 146-MHz (2-meter) antenna is a 19-inch quarter-wave whip. It has a wavelength of 146 MHz approximately 2 (300 divided by 146) meters, and a quarter wave of 2 meters is about 19 inches (50 cm). Hams have devised some unusual antennas and revel in finding one that works.

How to Communicate

In some cases the ham will speak into either a stationary microphone that sits on a surface and looks much like the type of device that singers use, some choose the handheld microphone that has the buttons on the side to send their voice out over the airwaves. In some cases the ham operator will use Morse code to communicate, while it is not necessary to know Morse code when using a ham radio it is beneficial to know it. Morse code can often be detected when the radio waves are not strong enough to carry the complex inflection of voice but can efficiently carry the beep tones of Morse code.

Anlineradio scanners

Radio Scanners are Not Illegal

Virtually all you will hear on its frequencies is legal. There are no legal restrictions if scanners are used at home. What is illegal is utilizing the info heard on the scanner to commit a crime or use it for financial gain. There may also be a few restrictions in using them while in a vehicle; it depends on the state. But deciding to
buy a radio scanner is legal.

The following is a list of what you can expect from a radio scanner. Not all devices have these features, so remember that as you shop for a scanner.

Base vs. Handheld Scanners

The base or mobile scanners are for use on base stations or a vehicle. The sound is louder and quality is better than handhelds. The keypads and displays are also larger. They also come with a power supply.

In terms of performance, the mobile scanners are better than handhelds. They have greater coverage and less susceptible to interference. However, handheld scanners are more convenient and can be carried by an individual.

If you don't plan to bring the scanner with you, buy a radio scanner of the mobile variety. If you want something you can take while traveling, the handheld is the better option.

Number of Channels Available

This determines how many systems you can tune in to. A scanner with limited channels means you have to reprogram it whenever you want to check out another agency. If you just listen to the sheriff's department, 20 channels will be sufficient.

But if you live in the city or metropolitan area, you'll need more channels. In these places each city will have their own department, each with 5 to 10 frequencies. This doesn't even count in the state and county police.

If you want to listen to civil / military aircraft, fire department, etc. you'll need to buy a radio scanner that can accommodate 200 to 1000 frequencies.

Using Banks

On scanners with plenty of channels, the user can organize them into banks. The banks are used to cluster channels that share a common topic. That is, you can put all law enforcement frequencies on bank 1, fire/medical on bank 2, aircraft on bank 3 and so on.

Search Mode

A scanner with a search mode option allows the user to look for systems on unknown channels or frequencies. Unpublished frequencies include those of NASA, the FBI and many more. The search option on scanners is often customizable. The search speed will vary per scanner though.

internet anline radio

Almost one billion people use Internet daily all around the world. More than 80% of the population in USA has access to Internet from their homes and from work. The number of Internet users is increasing at a massive rate and almost 15% of these users listen to online radio stations through online tuners that provide a wide range of genres and stations of all types.

Most times, radio tuners on the web can provide a more comprehensive and large list of radio stations, unlike terrestrial networks that provide a relatively limited list of stations. Basically, anyone that has a good internet connection, a good computer and a stereo system, can listen to radio stations online. Unlike traditional radios, internet radio is not geographically limited.

Internet online can be a solution for those communities that would not have enough fans to support a internet station in their city, but if we add listeners from around the world, the chances will increase dramatically.

Online radio tuners have the advantage and the possibility of informing listeners about the audience number, the title of the radio stations played, the current song playing, the artists the sings and the genre.

IR can be a powerful marketing tool and a big source of income for its founders. The first thing you need to do when you own an IR is get your "experimental product" to be liked by the consumers before they become regular users. Message boards and forums can create community fans, from which you can gather information in a database.

Internet radio attracts a significant amount of media and investors attention, so both IR founders and listeners can enjoy the benefits of this powerful tool.

anline radio broadcasting news

What is broadcasting?

Broadcasting is the distribution of signals, video or audio, to an audience like the general public or communities. A big part of the media is focused on broadcasting, through which can access a wide range of listeners and viewers all over the world.

What is Webcasting?

Webcasting was invented in 1993 and it meant streaming music or videos through streaming media technology to a mixture of listeners and viewers anywhere in the world. Using pretty cheap and accessible technology to webcast, has lead media to an outstanding evolution.

Internet radio stations primary targets are the listeners and not the advertisers unlike the commercial radio stations on the classic airwaves, because most of the times, the listeners are the source of income. Money come depending on the record sales and are distributed mostly to blockbusters artists and not to those artists whose songs are streamed by one specific radio station.

To operate an internet radio stations, owners need a specific type of broadcast license that varies worldwide from country to country. Indeed, internet radio has its issues, like copyright, licensing and advertising but there are too many things to cover in just one article.

The main goal of IR is covering an overall area of listeners that own a computer with a good internet connection. In the near future, this can all change and simplify due to the rapid evolution of technology, internet radio could be enjoyed worldwide through portable wireless devices. IR will become widespread.
During a very short period of time, Internet radio has outrun the terrestrial and satellite networks and has become commercially successful.

advantages of radio communication

Radios are one of the first types of communication to be invented that are still used in the modern age. The main reason for this is because of the ease of use and the low cost it takes to use it. They are a very important component of many businesses such as the construction industry.

In the construction industry the person operating the crane is very high up and most defiantly out of reach of and site manager giving the instructions below. Some people might suggest the use of mobile phone for communication but the cost per day would be too high for it to be a viable option. Instead you can use a radio for communication as it would be very cheap, in fact all it would cost is the initial price of the radio sets at the shop. If you do decide to buy a radio set then make sure that it is rechargeable as buying multiple batteries per week for the use of the radio is also very expensive. When in pursuit of a criminal the police use radio communications in order to coordinate themselves around the suspect in order to increase their chances of catching him. It can also be use for calling for backup and is one of the first things that are used when a dangerous situation occurs. This just goes to show how important these devices are for this type of job, without them many different produces would have to be changed in order to get the job done to the same standard.

Old Time Radio

Old time radio (OTR) is not dead. In fact, it's alive and well on the Internet. The Internet has actually helped to revive old time radio. After the days of OTR were ended, the only way to get any of these shows was to find them on old reel to reel tape and listen to them in this format. Some kind folks converted these shows to phonograph records and later to cassette tapes.

There were small group of OTR fans that used to do this and trade the shows among themselves. Very few people that would have enjoyed these shows knew about these small clubs and therefore couldn't get the shows. When computers became available to more and more people, smart PC users learned how to convert these old shows to digital format. 70 minutes of shows could be put on one CD. With the appearance of the mp3 compressed audio format, distribution was now possible via the Internet.

So many people can now enjoy the fun and adventure of OTR due to the efforts of everyone who converted the shows and posted them on the Internet. With the high speed Internet connections we enjoy today, we can download as many shows as we want in a very short amount of time.

OK, so now that we know that these great old radio shows are available again, how do we go about locating them? There are several ways to acquire these shows.
The most expensive way is to buy the shows at a book store in audio format. Sure, these audio CD's will play in any CD player, including the one in your car, but you can only fit 70 minutes of shows on each CD. Plus, these are rather expensive.

You can search the Internet and buy old time radio disk sets in mp3 format. These are compressed and many hours of shows can fit on one CD or DVD. They don't play in most standard CD players, but you can listen to them on your mp3 player or on your computer.

Or, you could join an OTR download club and pay a monthly fee to be able to download any of the shows they have on their website. This is much cheaper and a good option for those with a home computer. The very best way to get old time radio shows on mp3 is to find a website that offers them for free. These sites are few and far between, due to the fact that there are expenses involved in starting and maintaining a website. There is the cost of registering the domain name, paying a monthly fee for web hosting and paying for the old time radio disk sets. Because of this, many of these sites can only offer a few hundred shows in limited genres.

The best old time radio websites are those that are run as a hobby club. This is where the visitors donate ten or twenty dollars one time, to help pay for the website and to buy more shows.

From then on, everyone who made a donation gets full access to all the old radio shows on the website, plus all the new shows as they are added. A good club will also have an OTR discussion forum so the webmaster and the club members can talk about old time radio, ask and answer questions from other club members and request and share shows with each other. Also, a good news blog is helpful. The person who runs the club can post news to the site to let the members know when new shows are added.

Why is a hobby club better than a download site? Some people, not all, who ask for a monthly fee are more of a business than an old time radio lover. A hobby club is usually run by someone who loves old time radio and just wants to share it with as many people as possible. This is the reason for the small donation fee instead of asking ten or more dollars per month as some sites charge. By combining their resources, all of the club members can listen to many more shows then they could afford on their own.An old time radio club can be lot's of fun. It's a way to enjoy and share this wonderful hobby with others and it also helps to keep old time radio alive for future generations to enjoy.

disadvantages of Microphones

They are more commonly know as radio mics or wireless mics, where the original audio cable is replaced by frequency transmitting technology. Radio mics can now transmit audio through radio waves in FM, AM, UHF, VHF and various digital formats.

More advanced models will allow you to select various frequencies to transmit over, helping avoid interference with other electrical transmitters that might be using the same frequency, and also enabling the use of multiple microphones at the same time.

It is thought that the primary radio microphones derived from the original commander microphone developed in 1976 by Nady Systems, who was honoured in 1996 with an Emmy award for his technical contribution to the technology field.

Radio Microphones - Plus Points

Using radio mics is very advantageous for the user. A starting advantage is that radio mics eliminate the health and safety risk of trailing microphone cables. Secondly, and as a result of this, you give the freedom of movement to the wearer of the microphone as they are not joined via a cable. Another plus point is that you no longer stress any cables by flexing them, which can frequently result in damage.

Disadvantages of Radio Microphones

Despite having such advantages, wireless microphones also have some select disadvantages. Firstly the two way radio batteries used do not always last very long as the radio microphones are very thirsty when it comes to power consumption. Radio mics are also hampered by range, with the furthest signals normally only achieved by the larger, more expensive models. Interference from another electrical appliance is also a possibility which would lead to a disruption of the signal. Finally, to avoid being on the same frequency and clashing, you are limited to the number of radio microphones you can use.
